To become acquainted with an area your best bet is the local newspaper. In our area we are served by two daily newspapers and several weekly publications. By visiting their websites you will be informed of the current activities. Keep up with local news, community events, sports covergae of your favorite high school, where the best deals are.
The largest circulated newspaper in our area comes from our County seat, the Towanda Daily & Sunday Review. It provides local, state, and national news. The other daily newspaper is the Sayre Morning Times serving primarily the Valley area but also covering local, state, and national news.
A highly circulated weekly is the Rocket-Courier serving Bradford, Sullivan, Susquehanna, and Wyoming Counties. It is published every Thursday in Wyalusing. Another weekly newspaper is the Tunkhannock New Age Examiner which serves Wyoming County and the surrounding communities. The smallest weekly is the Sullivan Review serving Sullivan County and the surrounding areas.
Although Bradford and Sullivan Counties are quite rural we are well served by various television stations. The station I tune into most is Channel 16 the ABC affiliate from the Scranton / Wilkes-Barre area. WNEP-TV covers the entire northeastern Pennsylvania area and provides the most extensive coverage of our area. The other two television stations rom the Scranton / Wilkes-Barre area are WBRE-TV and WYOU-TV.
When it comes to the radio we have you covered. For those who like country we have Wiggle 100 hitting the airwaves. For those who crave the classic hits tune into The Bridge. The oldest radio station in our area is WATS/WAVR which airs adult contemporary music and is know for its "hometown, community-comitted" broadcasts.
When it comes to being informed don't let our peaceful, relaxed way if living fool you. We have as much access to the world as any big city. We just want to keep it a secret!
